Fundraising Campaign:

The Elmore Store Renovation Project

The iconic Elmore Store has been a steadfast presence in the community for generations. While it continues to be the hub of our social and economic lives, it is due for an update so it can better meet our needs. The Elmore Community Trust has launched a campaign to raise funds to undertake a significant update to the existing store whose presence is a lifeline in our community.

The Elmore Community Trust, in collaboration with Tim and Becca Lindenmeyr, the future operators of the store, are working closely to remodel and improve the Elmore Store and ensure a robust future for what many consider the heart of our community. We ask for your help.

We Need Your Support

A renovation of this scope has likely never been done in the lifetime of the building and the Elmore Community Trust board is incredibly excited to see it take place during our tenure as stewards. Successful completion of this project will require the financial support of many of our community members. When considering your level of support for this project, please think not just about the importance of the Elmore Store and the Elmore community in your life but also the importance of healthy small communities in general. Visualize the future of our communities, how do you want them to look, how do you want them to feel, and where does the Elmore Store, the heart of our Town, fit into that vision.

Without the support that we have already received from our generous donors, the Elmore Store might not be here today, but the reality is that we are not out of the weeds yet. To survive, general stores need to provide to the community, something special that citizens can’t get easier and cheaper somewhere else. We believe that when completed, this renovation work will put the store in a place where it can provide that ‘special something’.

We see a future where the Elmore Store is more than a place to buy eggs and pick up your mail, we see it as a place for a small, rural community to thrive. A place that can contribute positively to our bodies and minds and where we can show people practical, accessible, beautiful ways to live more connected and sustainable lives.
